They say good things come in small packages, and that couldn’t be any truer of Chic’s tapas: small Spanish appetizers made for sharing. Linger on the patio with friends sipping sangria and sampling a little of everything. “The idea is to sit and try a lot of dishes without rushing because that’s how it’s done in ,” says owner Magda Onandia, a Barcelona native. Munch on traditional fingerfoods such as pa amb tomáquet, seasoned bread slices topped with Manchego chese and cured sausage, or croquetas, which are like mozzerella sticks filled with egg and bacon. Make sure you also try the gazpacho, a robust cold tomato-based soup you sip. And it just wouldn’t be right if you left Chic without trying the house speiclaity: rotissere chicken. But this isn’t your typical rotissere chicken. This version is prepared with a secret recipe perfected by Spanish chef Tony Botella. The result? Fall-of-the bone tender chicken in an herb coating with a side of juicy roasted apples. “We actually roast the chicken and apples together so the flavors blend nicely,” Onandia says. Just make sure you save room for the crema Catalan, a rich lemony custard similar to crème brûlée.
