The newest edition of the Preston Hollow Advocate should have arrived on your doorstep a few weeks ago–ample time to read it cover to cover. So I’m sure you’re already well aware of all the great restaurants we featured because they deliver.
It was a handy little list indeed, but we only have room for five, so not every restaurant makes the cut. One such place is Yumi To Go. If you read this blog regularly (which I certainly hope you do), you might remember reading my review of this Asian fusion eatery a few months ago.
Well, you can now add a side of safety to your order from Yumi To Go.
The restaurant is now letting you order online and request that the delivery person simply leave the food on your doorstep. They’ll still ring the bell, just to let you know it’s there, but you don’t have to actually open the door for the delivery person.
The thought is that this makes you safer because you don’t have to open the door for a stranger at night. I can see how that might be helpful if you’re a female who lives alone, or if your kids are home alone.
But I also see another added bonus: Not having that awkward encounter with a stranger when you’re standing there in your flannel pajama pants and that ratty t-shirt you’ve had since freshman year.
Although I do wonder what the protocol for tipping is in this situation. Perhaps a couple of dollars under the doormat? Either way, it’s an interesting concept nonetheless.
