Hillcrest mom and Sevy’s Grill owner Amy Severson is spearheading a cookbook drive for Conrad High School. This DISD school off Fair Oaks (between Greenville and Abrams) opened last year, but it only hosted freshmen and sophomore classes. This month, the school will open its doors to all four grade levels and it’ll launch its new Restaurant Management magnet program. Right now, the library is in desperate need of cookbooks that the kids can use as reference tools.
But because the school is so new, it doesn’t have a functioning PTA yet. So neighbors in surrounding areas are pulling together to help out. If you have some old cookbooks you’d like to donate, you can drop them off at Sevy’s Grill and Amy Severson will take it from there.
