Advocate radio: What’s up with “Friends” groups?

In our neighborhood we have Friends of the Katy Trail, and nearby neighborhoods have Friends of the Santa Fe Trail, Friends of the Wagging Tail Dog Park, Friends of the White Rock Bath House along with several other groups that support White Rock Lake — all perform great services for our treasured parks — but what exactly does each group do, and could some do it better by working together?
