The Shops at Park Lane will host Chefs on Fire, a community-wide block party at 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, including food from local restaurants, live entertainment, fire safety education and other family activities. The event features a grilling competition between chefs and firefighters and a visit from the Pink Heals Tour, a group of local firefighters, police officers and leaders who raise awareness about cancer in women.

The Jewish Community Center will screen “Jews and Baseball” at 6:30 p.m. Sunday in the Zale Auditorium. Narrated by Dustin Hoffman, the film tells the story of America’s pastime, which has been surrounded by issues like immigration, assimilation, bigotry, heroism and tradition. Come early at 6 p.m. for an all-you-can-eat ballpark buffet. Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for children 12 and under. Call 214.739.2737 for reservations.

Lori McKenna performs at 8 p.m. Friday at Uncle Calvin’s Coffee House. The country-folk singer just released her sixth album, “Lorriane”, about her mother who passed away when she was 7. Tickets are $15-$18.
