Sean and Erica Heatley live in Preston Hollow near the Episcopal School of Dallas and got a bit of a surprise today when Vanilla Ice knocked on their door and offered to remodel their home.

They’re the winners of the Dallas-born rapper’s inugural “VIP: Ice My House” contest, which includes a $30,000 home renovation by Vanilla Ice and the DIY Network. The Heatleys were selected from thousands of video entries.

A film crew will document the project in mid-August, and it will air during a one-hour special in early 2012, kicking off the second season of the series, “The Vanilla Ice Project”.

The redo will actually focus on the couple’s guest house in the back, which is completely unlivable right now. The Heatleys will receive structural renovations that include new gas lines and electrical wiring.

So, your wondering why Vanilla Ice went from rapping to remodeling? Because he can. After “Ice Ice, Baby”, Rob Van Winkle started flipping houses and thus, discovered his love for home design. But, he’s still banking on the rhymes, promising to make your house “nice nice, baby”.

In a press release after today’s big surprise, he said, “I’m looking forward to rocking this renovation and giving this great couple an off-the-hook space they can share with family and friends.” Word.
