Neighbors donate $10,000 toward Marsh military museum

In our October issue, we featured the Marsh Middle School Leadership Cadet Corps, which is planning to build its own military museum on campus, and they help from the community to make it happen. Read all about it here.

Just before the article came out, Judge and Betty Coker, a couple from the neighborhood and big fans of the ROTC program, donated $10,000 to construct the building when they heard the cadets were planning to establish a museum.

Bates has gotten the project approved by DISD, and the vision for museum is becoming more of a reality. The next step is laying the concrete, which could cost up to $14,000.

There’s still a need for war memorabilia to stock the museum. To donate, call Bates at 214.549.1826 or stop by the school, which is at 3838 Crown Shore.
