Kids, here’s a post-Halloween idea: Donate your leftover candy to U.S. troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan and earn some cash while you’re at it.

Medical City Hospital hosts a Halloween candy buyback event 3-6 p.m. Tuesday in coordination with the Craniofacial Orthodontics at Medical City Children’s Hospital, along with the Fourth Dimension Orthodontics & Craniofacial Orthopedics staff.

Children can receive $1 for every 1 pound of candy donated (up to 3 pounds), and they also get an oral care goodie bag that could include $25 Visa gift cards.

After all, tooth decay is the most common chronic disease in children – five times more common than asthma. So, share the sugary wealth our military friends overseas.
