Dallas County and the city are holding another public meeting about the Northaven Trail 6:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Jewish Community Center to discuss the trail’s eastern connection.

Construction began last month on the first section, which extends from the JCC to Preston Road. Now, planners will discuss how it can connect to the Low 5 Trail Junction and the White Rock Creek junction.

The idea is allow trail users five different directions of travel. They could go northwest or southeast on White Rock Creek, north on the Cottonwood Trail, west on the Northaven Trail, and south or southwest on Veloway, which is on ongoing design, according to the handout from the city and county.

Wednesday’s meeting includes an open house at 6:30 p.m. when people can look at all the proposed routes on maps. Then there’s a 45-minute presentation and Q&A at 7 p.m. followed by another open house opportunity until 8:30 p.m.
