Hillcrest Lacrosse, the 2011 Texas State High School Lacrosse DII Champion, is recruiting new players through free “Try-it” clinics 2-3:30 p.m. Dec. 4 and Dec. 11 at the fields by Franklin Stadium.

Boys will learn the fundamentals of passing, catching and cradling with varsity head coach and team founder Bill Elliott. These camps are geared toward athletes in grades 4-8, but high school students are also welcome.

“The results of our youth development have been numerous North District Final appearances, but most recently a High School State Championship last spring,” Elliott said in a press release.

Last spring, Hillcrest Lacrosse won a state championship title, defeating Clear Lake 13-11. It was the team’s first state championship in 16 years.

Hillcrest Lacrosse players come from all over Dallas ISD and private schools (not just Hillcrest High School). Other areas represented include Woodrow High School, W.T. White, The Shelton School, the Akiba Academy and Trinity Christian Academy just to name a few.

All equipment for the upcoming clinics will be provided on site.
