It happened Jan. 25, 2010. Jil Katz of Highland Park was walking to her car in the parking lot of the Preston-Forest Whole Foods – the last place you’d expect a violent crime like this to occur. The man threw her to ground, slammed her head into the pavement over and over again until he broke her nose and chipped her teeth. He made off with her $90,000 wedding ring.

The DMN Crime blog has a surveillance video of the event.

The man, Brian Fuller, was charged with aggravated robbery and aggravated assault but was mistakenly released from jail on a $50,000 bond that was supposed to be set at $500,000.

Then, about two weeks ago, his mug shot appeared on “America’s Most Wanted.” According to the DMN, tips started pouring in. Fuller was arrested at his East Texas home.

Fuller had been connected to other similar robberies in Dallas and Highland Park. He often followed women to their cars in grocery store parking lots to steal their jewelry.
