Help disadvantaged DISD students at Back to School Bash

The LBJ Express project has partnered with Cencor Realty to host a Back to School Bash 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday in the Preston Valley Shopping Center at the southwest corner Preston and LBJ.

Guests are encouraged to donate supplies to the event when they show up since the bash is geared toward helping disadvantaged Dallas ISD students. Afterward, supplies will be given to Adventure & Victory, a local charity that helps support DISD elementary and middle schools.

The event also will include food samples from local restaurants, sidewalk sales, games, a bounce house and other family activities.

School supplies that are needed include:

No. 2 pencils
Boxes of crayons
Boxes of Crayola washable markers
Safety scissors
Glue sticks
Construction paper
Pocket folders (without brads)
Containers of Playdough
Manila paper
Spiral notebooks (70 pages, wide-ruled)
Boxes of Kleenex
Containers of wet wipes
Clipboards
