Neighborhood resident Elizabeth Lindberg will open PilatesBarre at Preston and Forest next month. The locally owned company has its first branch in Snider Plaza.

The 2,500 square-foot studio will offer Pilates and boot camp classes seven days a week. The studio is equipped with 12 state-of-the-art “Megaformers,” Pilates devices that provide more versatility and resistance for a better workout.

PilatesBarre uses the fitness philosophy of Sebastien Lagree, who expands upon strength and cardio training in addition to the holistic teachings of Pilates.

Lindberg used to work on Wall Street in corporate finance and investment banking at Morgan Stanley. She did international banking with Citigroup’s Asia Pacific region. She discovered Pilates after enduring tennis injuries. She trained with Lagree himself in Los Angeles last spring.

Lindberg has lived in Preston Hollow for 20 years and is active in the Junior League, Preston Hollow Women’s Club and children’s organizations.

The new studio will be at the northwest corner next to The Mercury. A grand opening is scheduled for Sept. 12.
