Giving is a whole lot of fun when it involves food, performances and penguins. The Communities Foundation of Texas, located at 5500 Caruth Haven, is encouraging people to give with a full day of events at the foundation including a visit by a Dallas Zoo penguin, a Shakespeare Dallas performance, a ballet folklorico performance and food trucks from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. and 4–6 p.m. Check the event page for the full schedule.
The 2012 North Texas Giving Day, presented by the Communities Foundation of Texas, the Center for Nonprofit Management and the Dallas Foundation, is accepting online donations to more than 1,000 nonprofits. Every donation of $25 or more made before midnight will be matched “by some percentage,” according to the Communities Foundation of Texas website.
