Lu Mitchell with perform at Uncle Calvin’s Coffeehouse at 8 p.m. Sept. 28. Mitchell sings songs that poke a little fun at today’s headlines and her own personal experiences. Her newest song “Feel Me Up” is about airport security. The Ackermans will open for Mitchell with their Texas-style singer-songwriter tunes. Tickets are $15 in advance or $18 at the door.

Education in Ireland will host an open house at Dallas Parish Episcopal School’s Midway Campus from 2-4 p.m. Sept. 29. The event is open to all, but is mainly for students and their families interested in learning about undergraduate and post-graduate opportunities overseas. Students can participate in one-on-one discussions with alumni and representatives from the top seven universities in Ireland.

Museums nation-wide are letting people in for free Sept. 29 for Smithsonian Museum Day Live! The Frontiers of Flight Museum, which is opens at 10 a.m., is participating. Click here for one ticket that permits a two-person entry.
