Bryan Holaday, Detroit Tigers rookie catcher
A W.T. White alumnus is on the 40-man roster for the Detroit Tigers in the World Series. Bryan Holaday graduated from W.T. White in 2006 and attended TCU, helping his team reach the College World Series in 2010. The Tigers selected Holaday in the sixth round of the draft that year. Holaday made his major-league debut this summer and played in six games at catcher during the regular season. His mother, Laura is an alumna of the high school and currently the principal’s clerk. Both of Holaday’s parents are attending the Series.
