Home-harvested lettuce, spinach and cilantro are on Blue Mesa’s menu Thursday, Nov. 15 to raise funds for the John J. Pershing Elementary learning garden. Drop by at 6:30 p.m. at the restaurant’s Addison location on 5100 Beltline for a dinner that includes greens harvested by Pershing students.

Blue Mesa donates 25 percent of each bill that night to the garden, where you can find a chicken coop, organic vegetable beds, fruit trees, a composting station, an earth science station, a pond and more.

The garden was co-created by the school and REAL School Gardens, an area non-profit that helps high-poverty schools build gardens. Garden renovations took place in June.
