Community members packed the W.T. White auditorium for opening night of the musical, “Holidays with Hermione,” and I bet even the neighbors could here their voices ring out from across the street.

More than 250 choir, dance and theater students took the stage to sing the musical story of Lady Hermione Spencer, who in her late 70’s, sits in her rocking chair and tells the story of Christmases past with musical interpretations and dance immediately following.

There’s no doubt that Preston Hollow is packed with talented youth, and each time I visit a local play or musical I begin to wonder where all this talent is coming from. Surely their moms must have pressed headphones blasting Mozart up to their stomachs when these prodigies were in the womb.

If you love Christmas music, or simply appreciate talent, it’s definitely worth a visit to see the last showing of the musical at 7 p.m. Dec. 14.

Students performed classics like “Silent Night”, “Blue Christmas” and had a little fun with songs like “No Time to Diet” and the best holiday jam to date (in my opinion) – “All I Want for Christmas is You”.
