Photo of Lee KleinmanAfter resigning from his position on the District 11 Dallas Park Board in December, Lee Kleinman announced he is running for the District 11 Dallas City Council seat of retiring council member Linda Koop. It was Koop who initially appointed Kleinman to the Park Board.

Kleinman founded the Friends of the Northaven Trail, served as chairman of the planning and design committee on the Park Board and served on the Zoo Board. If he wins the seat, he says his priorities will include crime prevention, cleanliness, well-maintained roads and support for neighborhood associations.

“A major challenge the next council member will face is the transition of the Valley View Mall area,” Kleinman says. “The decisions made in this important conversion will have a huge impact on the quality of life of all those who live and work around it. I intend to listen to the neighbors and use my own business experience to make this transition successful.”

A St. Mark’s School of Texas and SMU graduate, Kleinman built a career of managing startup companies.Â
