The Center for Jewish Education of the Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas will host its Learning Fest 2013 Feb. 8-17. More than 100 learning sessions by dynamic rabbis, professors, senior educators, and prominent Jewish educators from around the world will be taught at the Aaron Family Jewish Community Center.

Southwest Gallery will celebrate the 30th anniversary of Frederick Hart’s retrospective exhibit, “Creation,” 1-5 p.m. Feb. 9. Hart’s sculptures, “Adam” and “Ex Nihilo Working Model” will both be on display in full-figure bronze. His wife will be there to answer questions about Hart, and speak on his legacy.

Ken Price Sculpture: A Retrospective is said to show the progression of his work and “illuminate the work of other artists who have been influenced by his groundbreaking and influential oeuvre.” Price’s works will be on display starting Feb. 9 at the Nasher Sculpture Center.

Louise S. Cowan, a ninety-six-year-old Preston Hollow resident, will give the keynote address at the 30th anniversary celebration of the Sue Rose Summer Institute for Teachers 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Feb. 9. At the event leaders will proclaim 2013 “year of the teacher.” Cowan is co-founder of the Dallas Institute and visionary creator of the Summer Institute, a multicultural and interdisciplinary literature course held during the summer.

Dallas County Alumnae Panhellenic will host its annual Sorority Recruitment Workshop for junior and senior high school ladies 2-4 p.m. Feb. 10. At the event young ladies will learn about sororities, how to register, and about hazing and alcohol. The event is at Northway Christian Church. Email duxiana@aol.com with questions.
