- Nine new stores will open at NorthPark mall by April 2014, Pegasus News reports. Over the next nine months, we’ll see Tourbillon Boutique, Nespresso coffee shop, See’s Candies, Spanx, J Crew Men’s shop, Splendid clothing, Rolex and Tory Burch accessories. The list also includes the popular food truck-turned-storefront, Green House Market, which we reported on earlier this week.
- Contenders showed just who has the strongest sweet tooth last weekend at a cupcake-eating contest during St. Mark’s Cupcake Camp. Check out the photo slideshow from the Dallas Morning News. The event raised money for the LEAP Foundation, which helps provide free medical care to those who need it.
- Speaking of cupcakes, Society Bakery will hand out six free cupcakes to anyone who brings in a receipt that shows they bought $10 worth of school supplies for local homeless children. But you’ll have to hurry—the promotion ends Saturday. Find out more here.
- The city found an operator for the Elm Fork Athletic Complex—FC Dallas. The major league soccer club should take control of the complex by Jan. 1, the DMN reported. That puts it closer to finally opening and becoming a premiere venue for tournaments, right near our neighborhood.
