imageI decided to branch out from my usual breakfast spots and try something new, so I stopped in to Jen’s Place this morning.

The restaurant, which specializes in breakfast, lunch and catering, is located in an industrial area of North Dallas, but fairly close to the tollway and 635, so it wasn’t too hard to find. It would be great to pop in and out on the way to work or during a lunch break.

On a Monday morning, it wasn’t too busy, and the lit up pastry case beckoned me as I walked in. Cafeteria-style ordering can be a little stressful sometimes when it comes to knowing when and where to do what, especially when I haven’t had my coffee yet. In my un-caffeinated state, I wandered around hunting for cups, and the friendly employee at the counter noticed my confusion and helped me find my way. I noticed that the interior was clean, and that there was ample seating.

The coffee was piping hot and strong, and also came in hazelnut, which was a nice treat. I got a blueberry muffin from the pastry case, and it was fine. It was pretty big and filling, but a little too sweet for my taste. Next time, I might try their other breakfast options, which include a ham and cheese croissant, breakfast sandwiches, or one of the generous slices of quiche. They had some fruit cups too, just in case you’re feeling like being healthy. You can see the full menu for yourself online here.
