Richard Rawlins, who you may recognize from his Discovery channel reality television show Fast N’ Loud, just opened the  Gas Monkey Bar N’ Grill restaurant near Northwest Highway and Interstate 35.

The restaurant has sprawling patio decks, an expansive 19,000 feet of dining space, a live music venue, but most importantly — serves up some amazing smokes meat. Eater Dallas says that the “Texas-raised Black Angus is smoked for 15 hours over post oak and sporting a lipstick-red smoke ring topped by a charred, peppery crust.”

Along with a wide variety of smoked meats, the menu includes mouthwatering burgers, such as the El Jefe with onion jam, pork rind fried jalapeno, cheddar, bacon and a fried quail egg. There’s also plenty of local beer on tap to wash down the hearty eats.

While they get things nailed down, the restaurant will be open from 4 p.m. to close during the week and 11 a.m. to close on the weekend. Via Facebook, the restaurant has posted that they will be open for lunch within the next couple weeks, so stay tuned. In the meantime, check out their website, which has a line-up of pretty sweet bands —Old 97s, Hank Williams III, and the Misfits — scheduled to perform at the restaurant in the weeks ahead.
