Chef John Tesar’s foie gras in daishe: Spoon Bar & Kitchen/Facebook

John Tesar, chef at Spoon Bar & Kitchen (which was recently named by Esquire as one of the best new restaurants in the country — no small feat considering it’s been open for just a year,) sold ownership of the restaurant to Chanticleer Holidings.

Foodies don’t need to panic, though, since Tesar will remain executive chef at Spoon.

Additionally, as part of the deal, Tesar will develop a new fast casual seafood restaurant chain. Tesar tells the Dallas Morning News that Spoon will mainly be the same — except that now he will “be able to buy better truffles and caviar.”

Through Dec. 15, you can receive a free cupcake by bringing a new, unwrapped, toy for charity to Sprinkles in the Plaza at Preston Center.

Liberty Burger at Forest and Inwood is donating $1 to Wounded Warrior Project, a nonprofit benefiting wounded military veterans, for every “limited time offer” burger sold throughout the month of December.
