The snazzy new cupcake ATM: Sprinkles/Facebook

Sprinkles in Preston Center Plaza announced that they installed a new cupcake ATM — “version 2.0.” Instead of customers only being able to buy just one cupcake at a time, the new ATM will pop out up to four cupcakes per swipe. On Tuesday, Jan. 21, Shinsei Restaurant located on Lovers and Inwood, will offer a special five-course dinner featuring wines from Napa Valley’s Duckhorn Vineyards, Paraduxx, Goldeneye and Migration. Courses include scallops, grilled Spanish mackrel, grilled veal sausage, quail pho, seared foie grois, roasted elk loin, pumpkin and sage dumplings, and assorted chocolates and petit fours. Seating begins at 6:30 p.m. and reservations are required. Call 214.352.0005 to reserve. Cost is $125 per person plus tax and gratuity.

Empire Baking Company, also located at Lovers and Inwood, will host its first-ever celebrity pastry chef bake sale benefitting at-risk kids on Saturday, Feb. 8, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Eater Dallas reports that featured pastry chef Jodi Elliott of Austin’s Foreign & Domestic, will bake up “everything from banana cream pie and chocolate trifle to gruyere and bacon croissants and tomato mushroom tarte tatin.” Arrive early to get the goods, (the baked ones, that is.)
