Every week on the outskirts of our neighborhood, there’s a pretty wild party going on.

We’ve featured Stratos Greek Taverna for its authentic food and fun ambiance. During the day, you can have a low-key lunch on the breezy patio. But at night, the atmosphere is a little different. “Before you know it, everyone is jumping on the tables,” owner Nick Rizos told us a couple of years back.

You might know that the restaurant features belly dancing shows every week, but have you ever actually experienced one? That’s our challenge to you in our upcoming February issue, which is full of ideas for a fun and perhaps out-of-the-ordinary Preston Hollow date this Valentine’s Day.

The issue hits stands and doorknobs late next week, but here’s a quick preview. Advocate photographer David Leeson (with his family in tow) captured some of the belly-dancing action at a recent show, featuring “Neenah,” a crowd favorite.

The shows are at 7:30 and 8:30 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays at Stratos Greek Taverna on Northwest Highway.
