Trader Joe’s announced last year that its two stores in our neighborhood, at Inwood Village and the forthcoming Preston Hollow Village, would open in 2014.
Here we are, and the announcement hasn’t changed, according to Trader Joe’s spokeswoman Alison Mochizuki. “We’re still opening this year,” she says, but declined to be more specific.
A drive by on the Inwood Village location gives us a hint — coming in spring 2014? That store looks more finished and seems likely to open sooner than the Preston Hollow Village store, which is being built from the ground up.
We drove by the 42-acre retail/office/apartment development on Walnut Hill at Central Monday. The roof and walls are up on the new Trader Joe’s there.
