On March 5, between 7:30 and 8 p.m., an unknown suspect smashed a rear passenger window and stole a canvas bag containing children’s clothing from a car parked at a restaurant located near Midway and Northwest Highway.

Village Goldsmith, near Forest and Inwood, was burglarized March 7. A diamond ring worth more than $19,000 and $300 cash were stolen by an unknown suspect. Employee witnesses say that the suspect was bending over a display case unattended between noon and 3 p.m. Police are still investigating the theft.

Between 6 p.m. on March 7 and 6 a.m. on March 9, an unknown suspect threw eggs at a home located on the 6500 block of Lupton. Cost to repair damage to the front door and exterior paint is estimated at $1000.

An apartment located on the 12800 block of Noel was burglarized between 9 a.m. on March 8 and 3 p.m. on March 9. The suspect broke through the back bedroom window and stole a flat screen television valued at $1000.

 A thief with a sweet tooth struck a 7-Eleven near Forest and S. Central on March 10 at 4:17 a.m. $59 worth of Snickers bars were stolen. The suspect fled the scene in a 1996 silver GMC truck, according to police reports.
