A roundup of recent criminal activity in the Preston Hollow neighborhood courtesy police reports from Dallas P.D.

  • A Honda Civic parked in the driveway of a residence on the 6000 block of Steamboat near Preston and Churchill was stolen sometime between 6 p.m. on March 26 and 7:30 a.m. on March 27.

 

  • An unknown suspect stole a leaf blower and a hedge trimmer, worth more than $400, from a landscaping truck parked near Macy’s at NorthPark Center between 8 a.m. and 8:15 a.m. on March 28. Valleycrest Landscaping employees were working just out of sight.

 

  • At 11:20 p.m. on March 28, employees working at India Palace near Preston and 635 spotted a man, with his face covered, attempting to steal the cash box from the bar area of the restaurant. Once spotted by witnesses, the suspect fled with the cashbox into the alley behind the restaurant. The next morning the cash box was discovered in the dumpster with $5 missing. 

 

  • An unknown suspect shattered two windows and a side mirror of a vehicle parked in the driveway of a residence on the 4300 block of Northcrest near Midway and Walnut Hill between 2 p.m. on March 29 and 10:45 a.m. on March 30. Estimated cost to repair is $600.

 

  • Police are investigating an attempted burglary of a residence on the 6200 block of Lupton near Preston and Walnut Hill. On March 30 4:42 p.m., a neighbor heard a loud noise and called police. An unknown suspect broke the lock of the gate to the back yard and threw a clay pot through the window. The neighbor heard the suspect flee in a car in the back alley. Cost to repair damage is estimated at $950.
