BushA few local places and people that made the headlines this week:

A couple familiar neighborhood faces appeared in Dallas Business Journal’s “40 under 40” list. Professionals under the age of 40 that have accomplished success in their field of work are recognized in the annual list. Chris Ayres, president of Ayres Law Office PC and Episcopal School of Dallas alumnus made the cut, along with Nicole Metzger Brewer, co-owner and co-founder of Smocked Auctions. Read more about Brewer in our story about Smocked Auctions’ roots here.

The Observer critiqued President George W. Bush’s new art exhibit at the Presidential Center, saying, “This is not an art show, it’s a strange amalgam of politics and human interest, put on display for the public, at the price tag of $16.”

Police issued a Silver Alert for a Red Oak man that went missing on Tuesday afternoon after leaving to run an errand. Later that same evening, Dallas News reports that the man was found when he turned himself into nearby Medical City Hospital to be treated for injuries — possibly caused during a car accident.
