Executive Chef Chris Ward is passionate about greyhounds, and for the eighth year in a row he’s hosting a cooking class to raise funds for a nonprofit that facilitates adoptions for the breed.

Next month Ward will host his annual summer cooking class benefiting The Greyhound Adoption League of Texas on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2-5 p.m. at The Mercury. (And these tickets go fast, hence the early heads-up.)

Participants will enjoy a free drink, cooking demonstrations with Chris Ward, and tasting portions of several of The Mercury’s popular dishes.

Afterwards there’s a silent auction with all sorts of goodies such as spa and restaurant gift certificates, artwork, dog services, and jewelry.
