Prego Express Italian at the northeast corner of Preston and Forest is set to close on Sunday. A sign on the door announced the news, and employees confirmed it this morning. No word yet from the owners, the Barracos, on what prompted the decision.
The restaurant featured Italian staples to-go, as well as fast-casual dine-in service, including popular lunch specials.
The business still operates its other locations, including one in Plano and the original, long-standing Prego Pasta House on Greenville, which opened in 1982 by the Barraco family, using their matriarch’s own recipes.
