Update: Due to inclement weather, the event was rescheduled for 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16 at the same location.

The Friends of the Northaven Trail hosts another Holiday Lights on the Trail event 5-7 p.m. Dec. 14 where the trail intersects with Edgemere, just across the street from Dealey Montessori.

The lights will turn on at 5:30 p.m., followed by live music from Resounding Harmony. Santa shows up for the kids at 6:15 p.m.

See our photos of the event from last year.

This year, the local food truck Ruthie’s Rolling Cafe will serve grilled cheese, macaroni and cheese, and tomato soup. There will be other goodies from Top Pot Doughnuts, Starbucks, Simply Fit and Celebrity Bakery.

Canine companions are welcome, and Hollywood Feed will be there with treats.

The Northaven Trail recently received a $2.5 million grant from NTCOG to extend to Denton Drive. It still relies on donations through the Friends for amenities, which we outlined in our December cover story on how to give back to neighborhood nonprofits.
