A James Beard-recognized chef is opening a new Thai food restaurant at the southwest corner of Preston and Forest near Mi Cocina.

Chef Eddy Thretipthuangsin (don’t worry, you can call him Chef Eddy) brings us Kin Kin Urban Thai, a concept new to Dallas-Fort Worth. The restaurant reflects his own interpretation of the food from his home country.

“I want to reintroduce classic dishes in a whole new way,” he said in a press release this morning. “I wanted to open a restaurant where we would want to eat.”

In Thai “kin kin” translates as “eat up,” or “let’s eat.”

Chef Eddy formerly headed Pakpao Thai in the Design District (Pakpao is opening a location in Preston Hollow Village this year.) He then opened Bite City Grill in on West Seventh in Fort Worth.

Kin Kin will open in Fort Worth in February and Oak Lawn this spring before hitting our neighborhood this summer.

Stay tuned for more details about the menu.
