The St. Michael’s Farmers Market opened for the season on Saturday. Situated just behind Preston Center at 8011 Douglas, the market features purveyors from within a 150-mile radius of Dallas. You’ll find fresh produce, baked goods, local honey and other homegrown items. It runs 8 a.m.-noon Saturday mornings through Aug. 29.
Also near by, Grain at Hilton Dallas /Park Cities is teaming up with Lakewood Brewing Co. for a beer pairing at 6:30 p.m. April 23. Go here to reserve a spot.
The North Dallas Chamber of Commerce hosts the Big D BBQ Battle 5-9 p.m. April 24 at Valley View (Dallas Midtown). Local businesses are assembling teams to prepare brisket, ribs and beans overnight from Local Yocal Farm to Market, and compete for bragging rights. Four Corners Brewery will serve beer, and there will be live music from Hudson Moore.
