Preston Hollow resident Nathan Jones is one of 32 artists on the North Dallas Artists Studio Tour

barbecueThe North Dallas Chamber of Commerce presents the Big D BBQ Battle 5-9 p.m. April 24 at Valley View Center, the site of Beck Ventures’ planned $3.5 billion Dallas Midtown development. The 12th annual North Dallas Artists Studio Tour is 10 a.m.-5 p.m. April 25-26. Visit 18 neighborhood art studios, featuring a glass, sculpture, painting, photography and other mediums by 23 different artists, including Preston Hollow resident Nathan Jones. He creates large-scale, figurative oil paintings using his own method, “painting with a pencil.” See a map of the free tour here.

Celebrity judges choose the best-tasting lemonades during Lemonade Day 1:30-4 p.m. April 25 at NorthPark Center. The event is part of a program that teaches students how to open their own businesses. Judges include Jason Garrett, head coach of the Dallas Cowboys; Clint Bruce, former Navy Seal and founder of Carry the Load; and more.

The Friends of the Northaven Trail host a Color Run, beginning at 4 p.m. April 26, and followed by food and live music.
