Beading dreams storefront

Beading Dreams has a modest storefront on Lover’s Lane, but don’t let that fool you. In addition to selling bling and offering jewelry making classes, the shop creates custom designs for several impressive clients.

“One of the coolest pieces we did was an Egyptian collar that was a donation from Michael Faircloth, a local fashion designer, to the opera guild,” says Heather Adams, a veteran employee of Beading Dreams.

Faircloth paired the collar with a dress he designed for model Deanna Stone Waddell. According to The Flash List, the gown was inspired by “Aida” and worn the night the opera premiered at Winspear.

When they are not working on commissioned projects, the staff at Beading Dreams hosts bachelorette parties and girls’ nights out. For $20 each, guests get two hours in the studio and everything they need to create a wearable souvenir. The private events are BYOB.

“We can help anybody with anything,” Adams says. “Even if you don’t think you’re creative, we can show you how.”
