Sure, you could fly to Los Angeles, but if your child has expressed interest in the entertainment industry, it might be easier to take him or her to the Aaron Family Jewish Community Center.

On Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. the Campbell Agency’s Barbara Blanchette will stop by the neighborhood nonprofit to talk about what it takes to succeed as a child actor. Hers is the first of many Hollywood-inspired workshops happening at JCC this fall.

From October 4 to November 1, the center will host several classes for “curious filmmakers.” Students will coordinate, shoot and edit their masterpieces using iMovie.

Of course, behind every good film, there’s a great script. Amateur playwrights are invited to practice their craft October 8-November 12.

Little thespians take center stage October 27. Every Tuesday through November 17, Students will work on vocalization, character development and stage presence.
