Driving down Walnut Hill Lane is a mostly pleasurable experience. Beautiful homes line the street, and traffic usually isn’t too congested. But yesterday, I hit a pretty sizable pothole in the 5400 block. I pulled over so my passenger, Porky, could take a closer look. Here he is from a different angle, nestled in the divot:

I reported the pothole to the City’s 311 online portal, which promises a response to the initial report in three days, with a service followup five days later. The tracking number is 16-00087816 if you’d like to keep an eye on the progress.

That being said, Advocate President Rick Wamre recently received a followup email regarding one of Porky’s earlier adventures that promised an “ ‘estimated response time’ of 14 days and a ‘completion timeframe’ of 90 days, even though the timing language remains the same on the 311 portal.” We’ll let you know which timeline is followed.

It does appear the city is tending to other parts of Walnut Hill. There was significant roadwork underway near the Midway intersection, just a few blocks from the pothole Porky and I spotted. Click here to learn more about potholes in Preston Hollow.
