W.T. White grad Bryan Holaday returns to Dallas to play for the Texas Rangers. (Photo from Facebook)

Bryan Holaday is trading Detroit blue and orange for Texas red, white and blue. The recent trade brings the 2006 W.T. White grad back to the Big D to play catcher for the Rangers, the team he always dreamed of playing for as a child.

The Rangers agreed to give up catcher Bobby Wilson and right-handed pitcher Myles Jaye in exchange for Holaday, who spent four seasons with the Tigers.

Holaday tweeted the following after the trade was announced:

Holaday was the sixth-round pick in the 2010 draft after hitting .248 in 36 games with the minor league team Triple-A Toledo. Recently, he’s hit .281/.292/.453 with two home runs and 13 RBI in 2015. Check out the video below of his first ever Major League home run in 2013.
