Update: Police determined that Demonte Laderrick Scaife, who was originally wanted for questioning, was actually the man responsible for Saturday’s murder at the Coit Road Extended Stay. Scaife was taken into custody in Nolan County and is currently being held on $1 million bail.

Police are seeking a man, Demonte Laderrick Scaife, who may have information about a shooting death that occurred Saturday, May 28, at the Extended Stay America Hotel at 12121 Coit Road.

Police  responded to a call about a shooting around 9:05 p.m. When they arrived, the victim, Paris Marquell St John, 27, was in critical condition from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a hospital where he died from his injuries. Shortly after the shooting, his vehicle, a 2007 burgundy Chrysler 300 four-door, with the license plate CF2G526, was taken.

Scaife was believed to be with the victim at the time of the shooting, and police are hoping to question him for additional information. He is described as a black male, 24 years old who is 5-foot-7 and 150 pounds (see photo).
