When Hunter McWilliams, 6, heard her police force was hurting, she decided to take action. During the hot Saturday after five Dallas officers were gunned down, she sold lemonade outside her Northaven Road home, with all proceeds going to Assist the Officers foundation.

This past Saturday, she was back out with her lemonade stand, selling cold cups of pink lemonade. In addition, she had “I support local law enforcement” and “This house backs the blue” lawn signs that sold like hotcakes, raising a total of $1,700 thus far.

“And that number is still rising as people continue to pick up yard signs that say back the blue,” her mom, Hollin McWilliams says. “It was so very humbling and refreshing to see all of the people show their support and love for our brave men and women in blue. At a time when our world is not as it should be, it helps to know there are so many who stand for unity, peace and love. I’m very proud of my daughter for taking the initiative to do something to help. I hope we can all be the change we want to see in this world.”
