Councilwoman Jennifer Staubach Gates is asking neighbors what improvements they think are most important in District 13, from street maintenance and infrastructure to parks and recreation.

At two town hall meetings in October, neighbors have the opportunity to voice their opinions on the proposed 2017 capital bond program, which will be voted on in May. “There’s a lot of competing needs for bond dollars,” Gates says.

Preston Hollow neighbors can view the city’s needs inventory to see what projects are being considered. If the website becomes tricky to navigate, a how-to guide also is available.

For Gates, street repairs and maintenance are the most important. “The streets have not been maintained in the quality they should have been,” she says.

Both meetings, held Oct. 6 and Oct. 11, are from 6:30-8 p.m. at Walnut Hill Recreation Center.
