NorthPark Center will join the likes of AT&T, Exxon Mobil and Southwest Airlines as the recipient of the Judge Barefoot Sanders Champion of Children Award.

Dallas Court Appointed Special Advocates presents the annual award to companies or community members who work to improve the lives of children impacted by abuse, neglect and instability. NorthPark Center will be honored Oct. 27 at the Fairmont Dallas for hosting the Dallas CASA Parade of Playhouses for more than two decades. The event not only raises funds for the national association but also recruits potential volunteers.
During the event, director and author Antwone Fisher will share his own story with event attendees. Known for the memoir and film “Finding Fish,” Fisher grew up in an abusive foster home and became homeless at age 14 before he served in the navy for 11 years.
