From holiday concerts to appearances from Santa and Scrooge, Preston Hollow is overflowing with holiday cheer, and our December cover story highlights 23 local events that will brighten your holiday season.

Because we begin planning and writing more than a month in advance, some holiday events had not yet been planned, and others were rescheduled.

Here is an updated list of the events we initially missed:

Holiday Jazz Party

Ken’s Man’s Shop at the Preston Royal Shopping Center is hosting this fundraiser benefitting the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children from 6-8 p.m. on Dec. 8. Zach Spruill will perform Christmas jazz, and refreshments will be served.  Attendees are asked to donate a new, unwrapped toy or book. Learn more here.

Santa Days

Take a photograph with Santa and his reindeer during the The Plaza at Preston Center’s annual Santa Days, held Dec. 10 and Dec. 17 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Proceeds benefit the North Texas Food Bank. More information is available here.

Dallas Symphony Orchestra Christmas Concert

Lawrence Loh conducts this performance that features longtime favorites from “The Nutcracker” and “The Polar Express.”  The family-friendly NorthPark Center concert begins at 7 p.m. on Dec. 13. Get all the details here.

Preston Hollow Living Nativity

The United Methodist Church of Preston Hollow’s tour of nativity scenes is from 6-9 p.m. on Dec. 16 and Dec. 17. The church, located at 6315 Walnut Hill Lane, requests visitors bring non-perishable food items that will be donated to the North Texas Food Bank. Get all the event details here.

Santa Cops Toy Drive

The North Dallas Chamber of Commerce is hosting a toy drive for Santa Cops, a program in which the Dallas Police Department brings foods and gifts to families in need. Several Preston Hollow businesses are collecting new toys, blankets, board games, books, diapers and more. Visit here for a complete list of items and locations.

European Ensemble String Concert

Listen to holiday classics “Santa Baby,” “Let It Snow!” and “Jingle Bell Rock” while last-minute holiday shopping at one of NorthPark Center’s final seasonal events. The European Ensemble Strings is slated to perform Thursday and Friday from 2-5 p.m. and Christmas Eve from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Get all the details here.
