When Hillcrest opened in the mid-1930s, it was a wood-framed building called Vickery Meadows High School.

Besides the change in name, there haven’t been many modifications to the building since its 1951 expansion — until now.

Hillcrest is one of 31 Dallas ISD schools receiving facility upgrades in the 2015 bond program’s first phase. WRA Architects is overseeing the project, which includes adding 32 classrooms and replacing the original 1930 wing.

The architecture firm released this 4-minute YouTube video on Wednesday. It highlights Hillcrest’s past using historical photos and also includes 3-D renderings of the renovations once they’re complete.
