Love Field has helped shape the history of Dallas for nearly a century, from the rise and fall of Braniff Airways to Southwest Airline’s Wright Amendment battle.

The U.S. Army named the airport in 1917  after First Lt. Moss Lee Love, a Virginia native killed in a plane crash in San Diego.

In honor of Love Field’s 100th birthday, Frontiers of Flight partnered with Dallas Love Centennial to bring the Collings Foundation’s Wings of Freedom Tour to the museum. See four vintage World War II airplanes, explore a living history museum or try your hand at flying the dual-control fighter aircraft “Toulouse Nuts.” (Don’t worry, a flight instructor will guide the way).

The five-day event begins Wednesday, March 22.  There is a $12 fee for adults and a $7 fee for children under 12. Get all the details here.
