Preston Hollow isn’t known for its parks and trails, but that could change once Northaven Trail and White Rock Creek Trail merge. Soon, neighbors will be able to bike, walk or run from North Dallas to East Dallas.

In March, the City of Dallas acquired property at 11231 N. Central Expressway, near Northaven Road, to build an on-ramp and bridge over U.S. 75, so the two trails could connect.

The city is putting out bids for the trail’s westward expansion, says Jeff Kitner, president of Friends of Northaven Trail. Construction is slated to start later this year.

Friends of Northaven Trail is raising money in case the cost of construction exceeds the city’s available funds, Kitner added.
