One of Preston Hollow’s most prominent businessmen is selling his mansion on Jourdan Way, yet it hasn’t received much attention.

Bobby Haas’ French Renaissance estate was built in 1999 on a private lake. Now Allie Beth Allman is listing the 18,691-square-foot home, which has seven bedrooms, 14 fireplaces and an elevator, for $27.5 million.

Bobby Haas and Tom Hicks formed Hicks & Haas — known for merging Dr Pepper and 7 Up — in the 1980s. Hicks became a household name after owning the Dallas Stars and Texas Rangers. When his estate went on the market, there was a media frenzy about the $100-million property.

Haas, though, has kept a relatively low profile. Even his house is somewhat secretive, hidden among giant trees.

“It’s harder to hit a crouching target,” he told the Dallas Morning News’ Alan Peppard.
