Dallas police arrested two women as they tried to leave a home destroyed in the tornado with stolen items, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Toni Renee Caldwell, 43, and Rhonda Cheryl Harper, 45, face charges of burglary after police say they stole $1,150 worth of possessions from the 7700 block of Northaven Road. The women admitted taking a weed trimmer, sanders, an edger, a fan and more. The property has been returned to the homeowner.

Some property owners have hired private security to keep watch overnight while others watch damaged property themselves. NBC5 DFW interviewed a gas station owner who sleeps in a small restroom at night to keep an eye on the place. “I have to stay here overnight,” gas station employee, Mickey DeLeoa said. “I’ve stayed here ever since the tornado happened.”

Dallas police officers are also on guard.
